Martin Engelien
It’s difficult to imagine a more multifarious, well-versed and experienced contemporary bass player than Martin Engelien.
He’s been around for more than 30 years, having covered practically all the bass bases: from touring all over the world, teaching, developing instruments for big-name bass manufacturers, to performing on TV and demoing the latest MARSHALL Bass gear and MUSIC MAN Sterling Basses. Besides platinum and gold records, Martin won countless prizes such as “Golden Europe”, “Band of the Year”, “Song of the Year” et cetera. He produced several successful albums for other musicians, including the most successful German jazz musician, Albert Mangelsdorff. Over the years, Martin has participated in over 150 CD productions, with a total of over 10million CDs sold. In 2001 Martin Engelien started up his own Studio, the record label “A1Records” and the Flower Town Music publishing company. Since more than 13 years Martin Engelien runs the monthly club tour event “Go Music”. Besides Martin on Bass each time there are other colleagues playing, each of whom belonging to the select group of national and international musical acts. In April 2008 Martin released his 1st Bass Book for starters “Electric Bass Basics” at Voggenreiter Publishing. This book established itself directly as “New Bass Bible for Beginners”.
